Wow... I haven't posted anything on here in the longest time. Been busy with an enormous writing load, assignments, Halo 3, the start of school, and everything else under the sun. I've been fairly well, except for relatively minor setbacks. I came on here to register my complaints with the latest round of annoying additions to dA.

First, think back to a while ago, on 'Deviant Appreciation Day'? From what I hear, and I shit you not, that was the day that the mods and everyone started to crack down and suspended a lot of art and accounts, including many ones that had clearly broken no rules. Having the juevos to call this 'appreciation' of the people that ensure this pile of steaming goat-shit's existence is the most galling thing I'd heard since Dick-Fucking-Cheney attacked his political opponents... for being cynical.

Seriously, are they trying to piss people off? I am fifteen years of age, and so the site's new mature filter will NEVAR let me see anything that a few prudes mark as 'Mature' for three fucking years. Why? Why now? Don't give me 'It's legal problems' bullshit, this is the god-damned Internet for one, America for two, and third, why now, years after the fucking site went online? I am far more mature than a large slice of twenty-year olds. Enforcing an arbitrary, ignorant restriction in the face of a much more complex and subtle problem, that some people don't think even exists, is not only ignorant, but dangerous if dA purports to continue 'serving' us. With a steak knife, apparently.

What a shitload of fuck. For over a year now I've watched the mod team become more like the Bush administration- more sure they're doing right, more dead certain and not listening to the people, and getting more and more frequently wrong. What in the name of every God you care or do not care to observe calls for this bullfuck?

I am an author, writing about sexual and violent themes on a regular basis. I have the freedom to express myself, even if you happen to not like what I express. I have the freedom to see others' expressions. Whenever dissent in a web-community is voiced, the standard authoritarian retort is often "this is our site, bitch, so like it or leave it". Well, apparently, many people are beginning to call dA's bluff.

If you have any other good art sites to recommend, please do so if you leave a comment. I don't think being met with a bigoted ignorance is 'serving' me, and I think my place on dA is beginning to wear thin.
